GP ECO 15 vs. GP ECO 18: Choosing the Best Light-Duty Green Power Forklift

If you’re in the market for a light-duty forklift that’s electric, eco-friendly and efficient, the GP ECO 15 and GP ECO 18 from Greenpower Forklifts are both strong contenders. Whilst these models may look similar on the surface, there are some key differences that could impact your choice.

Performance and Capacity 

The GP ECO 15 handles up to 1,500kg, making it a solid option for lighter lifting tasks such as pallet handling, retail stock movement and general warehouse duties.

The GP ECO 18, with a 1,800kg capacity, gives you that extra bit of power for slightly heavier loads without stepping into a full industrial category.

Both models offer a 300mm lift height and use a 2-stage mast, which is ideal for standard indoor racking environments.

Battery Technology and Charging 

Battery performance is a key difference between these two models:

GP ECO 15: Poswered by a 48v/180Ah gel battery with a 48v/30A singe-phase charger

GP ECO 18: Uses a 48v/150Ah lithium battery and includes a faster 48v/50A onboard charger

While gel batteries are cost-effective and reliable, lithium batteries offer quicker charging, improved energy efficiency and minimal maintenance. The GP ECO 18 also benefits fro a 5-year battery warranty compared to the 2-year warranty on the GP ECO 15.

If you need fast turnaround and longer battery life, lithium may be a better fit. If your operation is lighter and budget-conscious, gel is still a great choice.

Size, Manoeuvrability and Aisle Space 

For operations with limited space, size matters:

  • GP ECO 15 Dimensions: 1770mm (length) x 1120mm (width)
  • GP ECO 18 Dimensions: 2000mm (length) x 1080mm (width)

If you operate in a more compact warehouse or need tighter turning, the GP ECO 15 may be better suited. The GP ECO 18, while slightly longer, offers a narrower width and improved lift capacity.
